Roknowledge

Roknowledge studies are regional rock physics interpretation studies designed to provide a visual reference of rock physics relationships and the seismic behaviour of rocks. Developed to reduce exploration and drilling uncertainty. Interpreters can concentrate on seismic modelling rather than log inconsistencies, thereby saving time and cost.

About the study
  • Analysis of rock and fluid properties from 35 wells.
  • Interpretation of reservoirs, from principal stratigraphic sub divisions.
  • Explains in situ trends and expected responses at reservoir level.
  • Includes analysis so that AVO anomalies can be better understood and interpreted.
  • Depth trend analysis to evaluate and calibrate the AVO response of reservoirs at different depths
  • Multi-well correlations, drawn from single well interpretations of rock properties, are established from carefully analysed core and wireline velocity logs, petrophysical, in-situ pressure and reservoir data.
  • Is essential to anybody de-risking new wells and carrying out post drill analysis of dry wells in the West of Shetland.
